As the International Monetary Fund (IMF) meetings take place this week in Bangkok, we expect an upward revision to the US debt ratio. Despite hopes from President Trump that inflation could help the debt ratio to decline, higher interest costs and the primary budget deficit are more than offsettting this impact. We also expect further indication from Bank of England (BoE) speakers of an increase to Bank Rate next month.
