DAVY VIEW

The new iteration of Help to Buy announced on Saturday (September 26th) is a significant additional policy support for the sector, one that will benefit each of the volume UK builders by substantially boosting demand. This is a major incremental positive for a sector that has struggled this year, facing high levels of material-led build cost inflation and rising mortgage interest rates. This is conditional on the localised price caps and income cap being reasonable; if these are set too low, the impact will accordingly be muted.
