With the war in Iran ongoing, this week’s flash purchasing managers’ index (PMI) results for March will be a focus of attention as they are expected to show weaker business activity and sentiment. Ireland’s delayed monthly payrolls for January will be published this morning ahead of updated macroeconomic forecasts and analysis later this week, including by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). UK consumer price inflation for February, while normally important to assessing the Bank of England’s likely path for Bank Rate, is likely to be discounted heavily given the outbreak of the war in Iran in the period since the data were collected.
