Following fundamental changes in the retail Irish banking landscape almost five years ago, competition in the market continues to evolve. We assess the market as competitive but remaining rational when it comes to pricing. Launches by challengers in the upcoming months will be closely watched for potential impacts. Performance has paused in recent weeks, but Irish banks have outperformed the overall Eurostoxx bank index, the best performing constituent of the Eurostoxx over the past 12 months.
