While last week’s data showed a fall in goods exports in June, we again note the limits of these data for understanding the real Irish economy; Q2’s increase in employee payrolls growth is an important counterpoint. Looking ahead to this week, Federal Reserve Chair Powell’s speech at the Jackson Hole conference is the main highlight, along with UK inflation data. Ireland’s labour force survey and residential property prices data are also due.
