While Sinn Féin’s new housing plan targets a material increase in output above current levels, it is not a significant departure from its previous plans. Unsurprisingly, the strategy favours a ramp-up in public sector provision. However, private development remains the largest component of its plan, and this could be jeopardised by some of its radical initiatives on removing state incentives and freezing rents.
