Irish residential property price inflation slows to 12%

The Irish Residential Property Price Index (RPPI), released yesterday (October 13th), showed another 1.3% gain in August with annual inflation at 12%. This points to little slowdown so far, but the official measure captures transactions agreed several months ago before the prospect of ECB rate hikes came into view. Our recent MyHome report showed that asking prices fell by 1% in Q3, with annual inflation slowing to 7.8% – which should become apparent in the Central Statistics Office (CSO) measure of transaction prices this winter.
