Equity markets were ‘risk off’ on Monday (July 20th) on fears regarding the spread of the Delta variant and the impact it could have on economic reopening plans. Not surprisingly, sectors exposed, such as travel and leisure, were impacted. The softness in Europe was followed by a sell-off in the US, with an initially lower oil price dragging energy stocks down.
