The likelihood of the UK’s exit from the EU in October without an agreement receded yesterday (July 18th) as Parliament firmly voted for measures that will prevent the next Prime Minister from exiting without a deal. This played out against further supportive commentary regarding possible compromise on the Irish border. Meanwhile, the Bank of England’s credit conditions survey highlighted the on-going threat to business investment arising from the continued uncertainty.
