Hill & Smith (HILS) is a specialist UK engineering company supplying products and services into infrastructure end markets in the UK and US. It operates in three divisions: US Engineered Solutions, UK & India Engineered Solutions and Galvanizing Services. HILS has over 40 manufacturing and galvanising sites globally, producing a broad range of products such as off-grid solar lighting; steel temporary road barriers to protect road construction workers; and coating steel with zinc to give long-term protection to composite pedestrian bridges. In FY2025, 79% of group adjusted EBITA came from its US operations. There is a strong medium- to long- term outlook for infrastructure spending in the US, especially in Transmission & Distribution. It supplements organic growth with bolt-on acquisitions and provides strong shareholder returns. It grew its earnings in each of the last two macro downcycles, reflecting its resilience.
