AIB Group is one of Ireland's two largest banks with a total asset base of €80bn. The group offers a full retail and commercial banking service in Ireland with either a number-one or number-two market share position across all market segments together with corporate lending and capital market activities both in Ireland and internationally. Deleveraging has significantly reduced the scale of its overseas operations; it retains its UK operations, comprising corporate banking in Great Britain and full service retail and business banking in Northern Ireland, with its SME banking operations recently put into run-off.
