RWS is the largest language services provider in the world, having acquired SDL in 2020. The market is worth well over $50bn, suggesting that, even as market leader, RWS has a market share of less than 2%. It has an extremely strong organic growth track record, but this has also been augmented by a variety of in-fill deals even before SDL in what is a highly consolidating sector. The company is primarily focused on regulated markets – Patents, Life Sciences, Technology – while it is largely a US/European operator. It is currently the only quoted company in its sector with the vast majority of peers in the hands of private equity.
