Wizz Air is a low-cost carrier based in Central and Eastern Europe, a market that continues to see strong growth in demand and the potential for higher levels of low-cost penetration. Its network is focussed on connecting the region with Western Europe. Wizz Air operated a fleet of 74 aircraft at end-December 2016 (a mix of current-generation Airbus A320s and A321s) with an average age of just four years. Its cost base is among the lowest in Europe, and there is scope for further improvement as it grows and up-gauges its aircraft.
