Company Profile

Norwegian is the third-largest low-cost carrier in Europe. In 2014, it carried 24m passengers with a c.4% share of the intra-European market. Prior to 2013, it operated only short-haul routes, predominantly connecting Scandinavia to the rest of Europe. In mid-2013, the company began its long-haul service, flying from Oslo to New York. Norwegian now operates more than 400 routes to over 100 destinations in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Thailand and the US. With a current fleet of approximately 100 and more than 250 aircraft on order over the next decade, the company is entering an ambitious growth phase. The majority of these will be short-haul aircraft, although Norwegian also plans to increase its long-haul fleet to 17 by 2018.
