The backdrop to Travis Perkins’ half-year update has much in common with last year’s interim results. Not only is the group contending with internal challenges that are exacerbated by still difficult market conditions, but Travis Perkins is also patiently awaiting the arrival of a new CEO. As we noted previously, regardless of who is in charge, the priorities remain the same: improving the operating fabric of the business; generating cash and reducing debt; and ultimately putting Travis Parkins on a path where it can begin to realise its potential.
