Travis Perkins is looking for a new CEO as it has been announced that the incumbent Nick Roberts is to step down. A new CEO offers the chance for the group to start afresh and reverse its recent underperformance. This will involve deciding on the future of the heavily loss-making Toolstation Europe business (a full exit would make sense). We would identify improving the performance of the core Merchanting division as a further priority.
