Tullow Oil is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Founded in 1985, it has built up its current portfolio through a series of judicious acquisitions and licence awards. Its major focus is exploration activity along the Atlantic Margins and in East Africa. Its operational style is to target areas where it has known geotechnical competencies and knowledge. It aims to grow its business through exploration activity and to subsequently monetise discoveries through production and/or asset sales. Core oil production is currently 65,000 bopd. Production is expected to expand with the development of the TEN complex offshore Ghana and Tullow's East African assets.
