Where will Ireland’s recovery go next?


Our view of Ireland’s economic recovery is that recent strong growth has reflected the depth of the recession that preceded it. The first stage was led by the export sector and foreign direct investment (FDI) — which clearly remain important. Going forward, consumer spending and homebuilding will clearly play a stronger role, helping bank lending, retailing and sectors exposed to domestic economic activity.
