Irish employment up 0.2% in Q2 2017

Today’s Irish labour market data for Q2 show a modest 0.2% rise in employment on the quarter, with annual jobs growth at 2.4%. The relatively weak jobs figures for Q2 are probably just a blip, with most surveys still pointing to robust employment growth. Nonetheless, Ireland’s unemployment rate has been revised down to 6.1%.
