Rightmove measure of UK house price inflation falls to five-year low

DAVY VIEW

The Rightmove measure of asking prices on UK houses shows inflation at a five-year low of 1.1% in September. Prices fell by 1.2% on the month to £310,000 on average. In London, asking prices fell by 2.9% on the month to £610,900, down 3.2% on the year. The weak Rightmove data follow last week’s RICS survey, which showed subdued price expectations, and come ahead of the uncertainties created by Brexit and the possibility of a November rate hike.
