Avolon’s Q2 update hits a positive note on all key metrics. It suggests a strong quarter for (i) aircraft deliveries (14 new deliveries, taking the in-service fleet to 152 aircraft), (ii) commitment origination (added 14 new sale and leaseback commitments for the 2016-2017 period, possibly $600m value) and (iii) airline customer penetration (deliveries include five new airlines, taking the customer list to 56 at end-Q2). The growth levels suggest a continuing favourable market in which Avolon is distinguished by its young fleet, origination capabilities and airline relationships. These enable it to compete effectively and continue its growth trajectory. Q2 results will be released on August 5th.
