Training and Development
We recognise the importance of continuous learning at Davy. To this end, we encourage our staff to seek self-development opportunities through the acquisition of professional qualifications, mentoring, formal training and active on-the-job coaching.
We believe that continuous development not only widens your skills and knowledge base, it also equips you to perform your role more effectively. Each year you will be involved in the design of your personal development plan. This plan outlines your development goals and the time frame and resources needed to meet these goals. We will actively support study for approved professional qualifications and will provide financial assistance and study leave.
Our focus on training and development is to enhance employee skills and knowledge and to maximise your performance within the business.
Training and development at Davy operates at three distinct levels: company wide, department specific and individual.
A variety of courses and options are available, depending on your personal requirements:
- Industry specific qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Diploma in Financial Advice (QFA), Securities Institute Diploma and the ISE Certificate in Stockbroking
- Professional development programmes such as presentation skills, negotiation, influencing, time management and business writing
- Team leader training
- Experienced manager programme
- Specific training on relevant IT systems
- Individuals will be supported in undertaking a programme of continuous professional development (CPD) where required
Career Progression

Our vacancies are advertised on Davynet, our intranet site, inviting internal applications. We aim to fill vacancies through the development of existing employees. Employee careers are developed through transfers and/or promotions when the time is right for the individual. Career progression options exist within departments and also across other areas of the business.
