New mortgage rates in Ireland continue to buck trends across Europe with modest falls as official rates and mortgage rates elsewhere are rising. Structural reasons explain this trend in the near term. However, we expect mortgage rates to increase in the coming months to ensure medium-term asset and liability rates are managed appropriately.
