Irish residential property market activity grows to €10.3bn in H1

DAVY VIEW

We estimate that there were €10.3bn, or 28,074, residential transactions in H1 2022, up 20% and 8.5% respectively on the year and well above pre-pandemic 2019 levels. After the disruption of COVID-19, homebuilding levels are picking up and vendors of existing homes are returning to the market. New listings for sale on MyHome were up 31% in H1. This bodes well for mortgage lending, which we expect to grow to €12.1bn in 2022.
