Yesterday (March 24th), the Irish government announced new income/welfare supports worth €3.7bn, bringing the total COVID-19 stimulus package to €6.7bn (1.9% of GDP). The government will pay for 70% of net incomes for workers in companies affected by COVID-19 and has raised welfare payments significantly. In addition, Irish companies can now defer business rate payments for three months.
