Global equity markets gain 2.0% in September; Q3 advance is 0.6%

The MSCI World AC Index advanced 2.0% in September and in doing so recovered most of the losses of the previous month (2.2%). The climb leaves the benchmark with a modest 0.6% rise for the third quarter and ahead by 15.2% year-to-date (ytd). The gain was achieved against a background of some political drama and trade war concerns.
