Irish construction PMI signals slower growth in August

DAVY VIEW

This morning’s Irish construction PMI revealed that growth remained robust in August but slowed to its weakest pace in 29 months, with the index falling to 55.1 from 56.6. The slower gains were driven by a continued contraction in civil engineering work and softer growth in commercial activity but new housing maintained the same pace of growth as July and remains the fastest growing sector.
