Monthly New Jersey (NJ) gaming data serve as a recurring reminder of the US sports betting opportunity. While June is seasonally less relevant, the picture in relation to market share, online penetration and continued cross-sell into online casino has clearly emerged in 2019. The competitive landscape was, in fact, more balanced in June. However, the first six months of the year suggest that FanDuel has built a dominant position in NJ while William Hill has also performed ahead of expectations. Other significant operators are primed to now enter the NJ market, while neighbouring states will also launch sports betting (PA now has three mobile sports betting propositions). The key therefore is to what extent this picture changes going forward.
