Eland’s maiden profit and unstressed balance sheet show the benefits of a stable oil price and operational environment allied to a decent year of production. This has given the group the space to develop its operational and geoscience capabilities, laying the foundation for the future. Assuming a stable oil price backdrop stays in place and production targets are achieved, 2019 should be another good year for the group and its shareholders.
