Des Carville
Des Carville - Director

Des joined Davy Corporate Finance in 1998. He has been involved in many high profile corporate transactions in the Irish market including IPOs, primary and secondary fundraisings, public takeovers and private company mergers and acquisitions. Since autumn 2006 he has advised on the flotations of Boundary Capital and Siteserv, fundraisings for Riverdeep, Houghton Mifflin Riverdeep, Smart Telecom, CREO and OpenHydro, the Moonduster bid for ICG and the Davy management buyout.

 

Des is a chartered accountant, having trained with KPMG, and holds an honours business studies degree from Trinity College Dublin.

 
John Frain
John Frain - Director

John joined Davy Corporate Finance in 2001. He has been involved in many high profile corporate transactions in the Irish market in relation to IPOs, merger and acquisition activity, public market and private fund raisings, strategic advice and regulatory matters. Since 2006 John has advised on numerous transactions including the flotations of AGI Therapeutics, Petroneft Resources and TVC Holdings, fundraisings for Petroceltic and Petroneft Resources and the Calyx management buyout.

 

John is a chartered accountant and previously worked with ABN AMRO Corporate Finance and PricewaterhouseCoopers financial services group. John has an honours BComm and a MAcc from University College Dublin, is a registered representative of the Irish Stock Exchange and is a member of the Securities & Investment Institute.

 
Eugenee Mulhern
Eugenée Mulhern - Director

Eugenée joined Davy Corporate Finance in 1997 and was appointed a director in 2003. She has worked on many high profile public company transactions including the flotations of First Active plc and Riverdeep Group plc. Mergers and acquisitions on which she has advised include Ryanair in connection with its offer for Aer Lingus, the board of ARCON on its acquisition by Lundin Mining, the board of First Active on its acquisition by Royal Bank of Scotland, and South Wharf in connection with the tender auction of its Ringsend site. She has also advised on numerous fundraisings by way of placings, open offers and rights issues, including those of Waterford Wedgwood plc and Independent News & Media, and on share buy backs by Bank of Ireland, Ryanair, Independent News & Media and Abbey.

 

Eugenée holds an honours degree in law and economics from University College Galway.

 
Ivan Murphy
Ivan Murphy - Director

Ivan joined Davy Corporate Finance in 1991 having previously worked in corporate advisory with Kleinwort Benson Limited in London. Ivan has more than 20 years experience advising companies from early stage through IPO and secondary fundraisings as well as mergers and acquisitions and debt capital markets transactions. He has been actively involved in many high profile corporate transactions in the Irish market in recent years. He is an honours economics graduate of University College Dublin and a fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute.

 

Ivan's recent transactions include: advising on the Irish Government €1.5 billion recapitalisation proposal for Anglo Irish Bank, the cross-border merger of food groups IAWS Group plc and Hiestand AG to create ARYZTA AG, the €100m sale of Horizon Technology Group to Avnet Inc., €75m in private placings for Azur Pharma Ltd, the €400m IPO of Origin Enterprises plc, the €3.6 billion IPO of Smurfit Kappa Group plc and the €2.6 billion acquisition of Eircom plc by Babcock & Brown Capital.
